CeCe Winans in Nairobi
When I stepped into the CeCe Winans concert at Uhuru Gardens, it wasn’t just another assignment it was personal. I have been listening to the Winans family for years, from BeBe to Marvin, and CeCe’s music has always held a special place in my heart. Songs like Alabaster Box, Holy Spirit, Come Fill This Place, Mercy Said No, He’s a Wonder, He’s Concerned, and Promise (Wedding Song) have carried timeless messages of faith and hope. Her duet with Whitney Houston, Count on Me, is a classic that still inspires, while Holy Forever touches my soul in a way words can hardly describe.
Documenting CeCe Winans’ More Than This World Tour in Nairobi was an honor I will never forget. From the moment she arrived in the city to the intimate meet-and-greet and finally the powerful worship night at Uhuru Gardens, every moment felt sacred. There were times during the concert when I lowered my camera just to experience the presence, then picked it up again to capture the joy, worship, and connection between CeCe and her audience. It was more than a concert it was an encounter with music and faith interwoven.
As a photographer, I draw much of my creative inspiration from music. It gives rhythm to my art and depth to the stories I tell through my lens. This concert was a reminder that beyond the images, it’s the emotions and the memories that truly matter. Some experiences live forever, not only in pictures but also in the heart. Documenting CeCe Winans’ Nairobi performance was one of those unforgettable moments, and I’m grateful to have been part of it.
